BIOSKETCH
Dr Yasteel Maharaj is a qualified specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a passion for high-quality and patient-centred care in both cardiac and thoracic surgery. Having completed rigorous training at the renowned Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UKZN, obtaining his FC Cardio (SA) qualification and subsequent Masters of Medicine (MMED), he brings a combination of sound academic and clinical acumen. He is passionate about teaching and training registrars within his department as aiming to provide his patients with optimal healthcare. He has a passion for research and is currently in the process of adding to his MMED dissertation.
