Biography
Dr Yasteel Maharaj is a qualified specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a passion for high-quality andpatient-centred care in both cardiac and thoracic surgery. Having completed rigorous training at therenowned Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UKZN, obtaining his FC Cardio (SA) qualification andsubsequent Masters of Medicine (MMED), he brings a combination of sound academic and clinicalacumen. He is passionate about teaching and training registrars within his department as aiming toprovide his patients with optimal healthcare. He has a passion for research and is currently in the processof adding to his MMED dissertation.
